I think the issue is indeed that there are too many teachers and returning to teaching is challenging.
Wrt question 1), if you have, in the interim been teaching in a school/ tuition centre that does
MOE syllabus, will it help you with your chances?
I wonder what the interview is like for ex-teachers. There are a lot of interview reviews for new teachers (where they have to deliver a mock class to the interview panel). Is it the same for experienced teachers?
I also heard that what you said at the exit interview will also affect your chances of coming back.
