Default Salary Progression depends on previous salary?

Hi All,

A short history so far:

I graduated from the university of newcastle from PSB academy in late 2010, worked in an SME in a recreational equipment industry. Pay was 2500/mth plus perks.

6 months down the road, company restructured and I rejected a position to do sales-only as I am young and wanted to do marketing. Hence i moved on to an MNC in Total Media Solutions(Media planning, buying etc).

Started as a trainee with 900bucks take home pay, contract and no perks as I had no prior exp, and after 4 months, offerred 2500/mth flat plus perks.

Questions:
  1. Am I underpaid? considering i am from a Private Uni
  2. I was thinking of demanding for higher salary, hopefully 3k, any advice?
  3. Do I have a chance to move on to the client side of things? ie: Brand exe/assistant brand mngr of Nestle (FMCG co)?
  4. Most people work beyond the stipulated time of 6pm, i seem to be the only one leaving work, is it wise?
  5. How to guage long term potential of career?
  6. Whats the potential for growth in a day to day operational work?
  7. Are Masters useful? for progression? Assuming i am taking it purely for potential future salary increases/promotions. If so, NUS/NTU? if not, why? =D

Thank you all!

=)

E
