During the interview if they see that you have Cat B1.1 papers they will tell you that these papers are for LAE not technician (technician need Cat A papers). Those B1.1 papers have a 5 to 10 years validity, so if you think of being a technician first and keep these papers for later do take note. Jump from technician to engineer is possible, but most ppl will need to retake those papers that have expired (more $$$).
1. You don't need any papers to be a Leadman. (But of course lar your performance must be good)

2. Certifying tech is more for line maintenance. Base maint tech don't need any papers.

Morale of the story, do not take Cat A papers, waste of time imo. Go for Cat B papers.
