5k is more than the pay (calls included) of an MO before tax deduction.
For housemen, it's about 120SGD per call, so the best you can expect is around 3.3kSGD before tax.
Also, remember you are not reimbursed (for most hospitals) for taking taxis in the morning before public transport opens. This ultimately adds up to around 300SGD a month.
