For those want to develop a career and move up the salary scale, I don't recommend they take up any admin job in a poly or uni, too dead end and monotonous. Good as a retirement job, but bad idea as a first job.

I was in
ntu admin for 2 years & fully agree, its very slow and laid back env which everyone just sop rot till retire mentality. The salary increase and promotion opp is also very limited.
But having said that if you cant find anything in civil service or mnc, its still better than joining those local sme. Local sme pay the same shiit level but expect u to work ur asss off. At least in uni/poly u go off on time and can tea break whenever u want.
