my turn
I am a poor man.
34. Working for 8 years. Cash: 365K Stocks: 200K 2nd Property: Bought at 600K now worth 800K. Outstanding loan of 200K I don't consider my first property and money in CPF part of networth... Even if I do, I still consider myself a poor man. |
Don't feel sad for yourself poor man.
It's better to be poor than unhappy. When I was your age, I wasn't doing any better than you. But I learnt how to be contented. At 40, I am now retired and living my life the way I want to. That's because I learnt to be contented with what I have. I told myself at 38 that as long as achieve a passive income of 5K a month, I will retire. I thought I could do so when I am 50. I managed to achieve my target when I hit 40. And so here I am now. Poor but happy. |
You're too modest, given that you have more than $1mio in net worth excluding residence. I presume that these assets are not shared with spouse?
