Exclamation Optimum Solutions

I've just ended an interview session with them on the Graduate Trainee program. The weird thing was they immediately recruited me and wanted me to sign the contract next week (which he will email me again).
Is this very dubious? Anyone who worked here?

Generally speaking, other than top global MNCs and banks who have properly planned out accelerated programs backed by the required corporate investment, all others fall short of the advertising.

Some of the largest local blue chips like Singtel, DBS, Keppel etc. are slightly better in the sense that the pay, training and progression is better than normal hires, but they still fall short by global standards.

As for SMEs like the one you interviewed, those are just entry level executive hires which HR repackage for branding purposes. They have neither the budget nor the expertise to run proper management programs. Most of their managers/HR wouldn't know how to design a graduate program even if their lives depend on it.

A top MNC fresh grad hire will beat a SME "graduate trainee" by a mile in terms of CV branding and exposure for development.

One of the many typical IT outsourcing sweatshops, I would rather go NCS or ST Elec even if no choice.

They need to increase the number of local staff as they are heavy on foreign staff who are seconded as contract employees to banks and other MNCs in Singapore.
Hiring a fresh grad is cheaper for them to maintain the ratio of local to foreign staff. I doubt there is much growth or learning in their grad program, but hey, I could be wrong.

They are an IT outsourcing HR services company. The Boss himself is from South Asia. The ENTIRE HQ in Changi is staffed by FT from South Asia. Maybe "ENTIRE" is the wrong word here, because they do have a few (as in, less than 5) local staff, excluding "New Citizens from South Asia". They do need to fulfill local work quotas, so what happens is almost all of their local staff are contracted to their customers. The plum HQ jobs are mostly taken up by FT from South Asia. Perhaps South Asia FTs always outperform local staff there?

The FTs inside are very good at politics, and always try to claim credit for work done by others. Good luck to you.

Golden rule always apply - If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

You should know yourself is roughly at what level, if you're just an average Joe and some guy conduct 1 simple interview and straight away offer you graduate trainee then 99.99% is a con job.

I went for their interview before.

The graduate trainee programme is just 3 to 6 months IT training. Most of which you already learnt in university if you study Computer Science. Java, Web Development, SDLC stuffs

Followed by being assigned to a project at 1 of its client company.

I would see them as a last resort choice as practically nobody I knew failed an interview there. It might be a good choice too if you are from a non IT background.
