Sigh from the replies it seems like I really need to start afresh..that's the evil part about banking.. They pay u so much and u can't leave. It's a vicious cycle...I spend about 6-7k a month if I go to civil I can't sustain.
Now my 220k comp I spend about half and save half but I am really tired and stressed

Moral of the story for everyone is that as long as you're an employee, there is a price to pay for high salaries. Many people (like the other threads) only see the glamour and the pay of certain occupations like investment banking, trading but they have no idea how much hard work is needed

Bonus for newbie
I joined civil service in December 2014. Can anyone answer the following questions:
1. what will my performance grade be (I have never had an appraisal)?
2. how will my performance bonus (due apr 2015) be calculated? will this be pro-rated?

Performance bonus is for work done in 2014. You came in Dec 2014, probably have not even oriented yourself to job proper, even by now. So do you think you will get any 'PERFORMANCE' bonus?

can you come up with something more constructive?
by the same logic, shouldn't I not get a pro-rated 13 month for 2014 too?
