Most people get there at age 30-32, so that's how you need to peg yourself

Eh... I see that one lady has about 6k when she just promote to mx11. How did u arrive at 7k? And this age 30-32 is promoted in 7 yrs twice right? Or you mean they reach mx 11 faster than 5 yrs?

So I can safely assume most grads in civil service earn 7k after 7 years?

Thanks! I know of a few friends who are 6k plus and doing well. Like u guys mentioned, I think she is above average but a non scholar doing policy. So 7k would be her rough pay I guess. Makes sense if 6k is the average

Been searching for a civil service job for some time now. I have second upper hons from local uni.

Understand that year end is quite a difficult period to find jobs but I got referred to a decent position by a friend working in the department, so I should have a higher chance to get in. The job is ok, not bad but I'm not very enthusiastic about it compared to other possible options.

So I'm wondering if I should wait until early next year, when more positions will open up, maybe I can get something I am more interested in.

What do you guys think? Is the job market for cs/sb jobs a lot better earlier in the year and a lot easier to get interviews?
