May I clarify on the following:

(II) The year which you were promoted to MX 11 and your basic pay back then (estimated);
(III) Have you been with the same Ministry since 2006; and
(IV) Are you handling policy-related work.
Thanks again.

I have been working in the GLC(Also one of the MNC regonise worldwide), for 7years.
2.2 degree with NS
Starting 3k
After 7 years, with 2 promotions only getting 4.3k basic.....
Annual only about 75k (as compare to 112k in public sector) for similar "Average performer".
wondering how is 4.3k compare to 7k.
I am in the same age group 30-32 range
MNC better than public service?? sure or not?

1)What makes you the yardstick for the definition of 'average'?
2)2 promotions in 7 years I think is on the slow side
3)7 years of experience is usually enough to get into management or a senior consultant role, go look up glassdoor on how much these roles are paid in a decent MNC

Promoted to mx11 this year and you can't remember your pay? Don't bullsh*t pls.
You're 8-9 years into service and you only just reached MX11. Pretty slow imo.
My view is that you shortchanged yourself when you jumped to Agency B.
You were probably about to be promoted at Agency A (5 years is the ave time one takes reach mx11) but you shot yourself in the foot by joining Agency B and resetting everything back to zero. You shouldn't have left btw.
If you left your previous agency amicably, you might want to check back with your previous cohort colleagues at agency A. Suspect they're probably in the region of mid 7-8k's by now.

Yah it's ******** because I was too lazy to calculate the salary before the 5 percent increment in August 2014 and there was also the annual adjustment in April 2014. I can easily remember my first pay in 2006 because it's a round figure. And of course what my current pay is
Yes, your assessment is correct about me missing out on the promotion because of my departure. I decided to leave agency A because of work-life balance reasons even though I suspected that a promotion was near. You are right about hitting the 7k mark if I had stayed on in agency A. I found work-life balance in agency B so it's indeed a trade off. Of course, I wonder if I would regret in the long term.....
Thanks for providing your opinion. It's much appreciated.

Hey guys,
May I ask, if I join a ministry or stat board as a diploma (MSO scheme), is there a possibility to convert to MXO scheme after getting a degree, say from uniSIM?
Understood that it's subjected to availBility of positions in the company, as well as case by case basis, but just want to see if there are people (or know of people) who successfully concert to MX upon completion of degree.
If possible, are the possibility high? Or is it those few rare cases only?
Thanks for any clarification. Appreciate it!

i work in a ministry.
i say dont waste your time. i have NOT seen any case of ppl joining as MSO and converting to MX scheme upon graduating with a degree.
i suggest after your degree completion, just apply for vacancies which require a degree in other ministries / stat boards.
the pay scale difference for a dip and degree holder is huge. dont shortchange yourself pls.

Definitely possible. I know of a case, this guy under ms scheme secures a scholarship to study degree overseas. The course is just 1 year. Came back immediately manager under mx scheme. Soon in a year, become head of department. Now that The agency has been restructured. This guy suddenly becomes AD.
