Info on Foreign Service Administration Specialist position

Hi guys,

Has anyone has any information on the Foreign Service Administration Specialist.

So how much does Foreign Service Administration Specialist Grade 7 pays?

Let's say if i do not want to work overseas, can I opt to stay in Singapore?

Got quite a number of sources for the interview process already...

Err.. My source may not be that exact cause I only know some info from the selection test that I have went previously.

According to them, you can opt to stay in Singapore but it will affect your career in MFA, cause FSAS is being expected to be always on standby to get posted out to our overseas missions. Even the Foreign Service Technical & Administrative Support Officers are expected to go overseas for forums and stuff.

So if you really die die don't want go overseas, then I suggest you better don't apply cause really will stuck in the grade for very long.

Pay wise, my friend who's a FSTA Support Officer, his entry pay is about 2k to 2.1k. So you should expect a few hundred higher bah.

FSAS usually begin at 2 to 3k.

FSO will start at 3k to 4k.

Primary difference is the education level. FSAS are Diploma or A-Level holders. FSO are Degree holders.

Be prepared to be sidelined and belittled as an FSAS. Only FSO are considered the actual diplomats. FSAS are just seen as "support staff". I've heard even interns in MFA are better treated than FSAS.
