Would be interested to see his recommendations. Since so many pro stock "experts" keep singing the same song, must be easy to pick 3 stocks.
The only person who proved his merit is Whizzard.

Congratulations. You are now a millionaire. An example of rags to millionaire life experience. With a net worth of $2m, you are among the top 0.01% of the world's richest. Bear in mind there are millions surviving on US$2 a day or US$730 per year. You earn a huge $140k a year and you are a millionaire. You are very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very , very, very, very, very, very, very lucky indeed. You must thank our government for making you a very rich man.

At that time, we were in our early 40s and had no more mortgage on our HDB flat (we bought very cheap many years earlier), so we took the plunge to upgrade to a condo, which we bought at $800k. People taught we were crazy as our combined income then was only $80k. But after selling our flat and using some cash savings, we only need to take a mortgage loan of $400k, which was a big amount then.
Now, fast forward, as we looked back, we did the right thing. Our condo is now worth $1.8m while our mortgage is left at $200k. We used our bonuses to pay down as much as we can. Our income grew to $140k pa combined today. Now we are in our late 40s, and our net worth grew from $500k in 2006 to $2m today. We were indeed fortunate to be brave enough back in 2006 to upgrade when everyone around us says don't upgrade as they thought prices will fall further.

A big chunk of your net worth is in your property, typical situation for many Singaporean.

In Singapore, if you can afford to own and live in a condo, you are considered very successful. Only 15% of Singaporeans live in condo or landed. 85% live in flats.

50, 51, corporate professionals, make $250k combined. Spends $200k pa on high end luxury condo mortgage, high end german luxury car instalment, holidays, maid, tuition for kids, restaurant meals, etc. We live a good life. Our net worth is $2.2m. I think we may need to downgrade to a small studio condo when we retire at 65. Big chunk of our net worth is in our condo. The only way to get cash out of our luxury condo is to downgrade to a small condo. At least we can still live on a condo at retirement. Most people stay in public flats all their lives. We are among the fortunate few.

Seems for all the riches people have...... not many in this forum understand what net worth actually means, to some its the value of their condo in 20 years time which they can guess using their crystal balls, to others like this dude its a high end luxury condo "where a big chunk of our net worth is in our condo".
Net Worth is calculated by subtracting the total dollar amount of all liabilities from the total value of all assets. So part of that condo is yours the rest belongs to your bank. I don't think there is anything fortunate about living in a condo, its just prefabricated walls at the end of the day, the only diff is a hole with water and a fence.
