Wow a first year investment banker makes more than a 3rd year consultant? Kinda sad.

I believe MBB should command a premium salary, why is it that you're taking a pay cut if you're from MNC? This means you're making 120k++ in corporate Mnc? That's pretty good, and from what I know reserved for top performing management trainees etc

How come bring up investment banking when it has nothing to do with OP question. This forum has a tendency of people trying to turn every thread into a banking make big $$$ comparison.

I am the ex MBB recruiter that was posting a few weeks ago. I assume you are asking ballpark salary offered by MBB?

It depends on where you are placed, which in turn depends on your interview performance.

A BS/BA holder (no MBA) with 3-year experience is typically placed at the senior analyst level. At this level, the base salary is around S$120-150K.

If you are placed at a junior associate level (this is the same level as newly minted MBAs), the base salary is around S$150-180K.

The above figures are a few years old, so if others have more recent figures, please contribute. But be mindful that this is not a moderated forum, so a lot of chatters.

Bonus at the analyst and associate levels rarely goes beyond 20-30% of base. Even at manager and principal levels, it rarely goes beyond 40-50%.

Hope that is useful.

just graduated from a target business school in sg (not hard to guess which one). base my classmates who went into consulting were quoting was in the 130-150 range, not high teens.

Yea, that's my understanding of MBB rates as well. I would have thought having some years of experience in the bag they would have offered at least 150k base with another 50k variable. I think guy above seriously short changed.

From his posting, it was not clear whether he received an offer from MBB. It could be a non-MBB offer.

AFAIK, MBB offers at analyst and associate levels are standardized (on a country basis), so there is no significant deviation from one candidate to another. The leeway is in upfront bonus (sign-on, relocation, etc).

What are the chances of getting a relocation though? Because I thought you would be hired to the Singapore office?

Not saying that relocation is available in every case; certainly not if the candidate is a local grad. But depending on circumstances, a US/EU MBA grad may be provided relocation expense even though s/he is returning home. The likelihood for this increases if the candidate has lived abroad for a long time.

Hey guys, apologies for e confusion. I graduated top of my cohort and was admitted into the MA programme, final posting is in Corporate Finance.

I'm still in the midst of interviewing with MBBs. Have not received any offers from any one of them at this point.

I'm just saying that I saw online that the entry level consultants are getting 90k as base with 10k as bonus. I did not say that was the offer. Apologies for the confusion.

I'm just wondering what a junior consultant with 3 yrs of Corp Finance experience should be getting. But from the postings above, I presume its around the ballpark of 120k-150k depending on the interview performance.

Apart from the MBBs, I'm also interviewing with a couple of other investment firms. I said it was a paycut because I thought the all-in salary would be S$100k but obviously I am wrong.

Right now, I'm just trying my best to measure the value of the exposure and experience in consulting, because I know that if I base it purely on salary alone, the choice is clear.

May I ask Corp Finance at which MNC?

Since it's not a bank, I am very curious. Unless you mean you're an MA at some bank?
