Default No passion for the job, HELP!

Hi all, would need your advices as to what should I do now.
I have graduated in 2015 and I have been in the company for 1 year, still I don't find any passion in this job.
What I am doing in this company should be project management related, but I have not been doing so.
I am always task to help other Department to "update/amend" their Manual/guideline etc. Basically what I do is to sit down with people from other department and scroll through what they want to change and I just change it.
It makes me feel very frustrated and no where to go.

Bro you have been bitching about your job for the past 1 year in so many threads - if its really this bad just leave. If you can't afford then just do your job get paid and get on with life.

There is no need to keep asking unrealistic nonsense every few weeks about investment banking, trading, stock/bond analyst etc. With just a SIM part time degree it just isn't going to happen and no amount of whining is going to change that.

Start living your life and quit dreaming of secret escapes.

Then upgrade urself. Go do CFA/MBA. Go network. If not just do ur job and stop complaining. Put in effort if u want change.

well, first I am not asking for any unrealistic nonsense about investment banking, trading etc. It is just for interest to know more and I am no longer seeking for a trading/investment related job. Otherwise, I wouldn't have stayed in this job despite hating it so much, putting in all the effort, thus I am not dreaming of secret escape. FYI, the amendments of document has been done for a year because of their various reasons.

But what is there to do when all you do is to sit there, stare into the computer and get paid for doing nothing? This only makes you redundant and worthless in the resume.

I don't need a glamorous job as per you say with only having a SIM degree , maybe I shouldn't have said "passion". what is there to start living to or stick to your job when all you do is to stare at the computer doing nothing?

It's bad and I want to leave, but is it as easy as you have said?
there are multiple factors to be taken into considerations.
qualification (especially what you have said SIM), experience, market condition, family commitment, school loan etc.
yes, if I suck thumb and stay on and decided to change, what have I done for the past few years? "stare into the PC" and "updating similar document for over a year"?

and yes, I am going to upgrade myself.

nevertheless, thanks for the advice.

Come on, you are not a 12 year old kid already. Most jobs in the market is just staring at computer the whole day, unless it's sales or on site operations. If you don't find anything worth living just because the job is desk bound staring at electronic documents, then I suggest the problem is far more serious on a personal level and has nothing to do with this job.

You do a job to survive, not to have passion or inspire yourself. These are good to have, but not an entitlement. You think you are the only one in the world facing tough job market or have family commitment and debts? Get real, most people are in the same boat.

They either take proactive actions or just suck thumb and bear with it until something better comes along. Complaining all the time isn't going to help and such negative attitude will just make your own life miserable and make your marketability worse.

What's your understanding of "project management"?

In many cases, project management means all sort of miscellaneous tasks that need doing, but which cannot be assigned to a specialist role to do are done by a project manager. Project manager is just 1 person in charge of a project whom everyone can run to when needed, or blame when something goes south.

It's common for fresh grads to undertake those uncritical or less important tasks to build up your soft skills, industry knowledge, and business network.

Btw, are you in private or public sector, and in which industry?

Learn new skills.
Learn driving and become a biz man.
Be a uber or grab driver.
You get to move around, meet new people everyday and you have flexible working hours.
The more hardworking you are, the more you earn.
You can become an uber or grab tycoon one day.
Then you can buy a condo.

Come, let me try to encourage this guy.

Wake up in the morning and ask yourself ... "What makes you go?". Then answer this next question 1) Is there a company that will pay you to make you go? Or 2) are you able to create a business that generates revenue from making you go?

If the answer to both is no, then you either think of another thing that makes you go or you continue to stay in this forum.

If you are have trouble answering the first question, try to think emotional. As in what emotion drives you to do something. For example, I have utmost fear of not having my own home when I'm 35, that fear drives me to be an Uber driver. I feel liberated when I've mastered the market, that liberation drives me to be good at stock investing.

Think of your past. Has there been an emotion that drove you to do something well?

Easy.. quit and look for a new job instead of feeling unhappy and whining like a little b*tch.
