Red face Public Relations Profession

Hi all, working in the PR field right now.
Not in any of the well known PR firms, just a local firm.

Had a change of career, and only started in PR half a year ago. Prior to this I was working in Corporate Communications.

Can I check if earning 3K + approx $300+ incentive monthly is an okay salary for a 26 year old?

Thanks a million!

What do you mean by "okay"? Compare against who, which industry, what qualification?

You can use gov sector which is roughly average of market as a start. 26 years old roughly work for 2 years exp. Assuming bachelor w/o honours start at 3.3 means after 2 years maybe 3.8k. For average performer on 16 months total that means annual all-in $60,800.

If you are in top industries like banking or oil & gas add another 30% premium works out to be ~$79,000. If you are private university in SME deduct 30% discount works out to be ~$42,500.

Your annual wages including incentives is $39,600, meaning its below a private uni grad in SME by a little. But this could be because you switch field halfway resulting in lower salary. My best guess is you are around top 30% of diploma grad and bottom 20% of a degree grad for your age .
