Civil service question
This may sound dumb but I have not step in before CS industry.
Is ministry roles harder to get in than stat boards? And more good $$ in comparison?
Serious question from fellow sinkie.

Not necessary true. MAS is a stat board, but it'll be tougher to enter that if you were to enter a ministry like MSF for example. Salary is competitive to industry norm (read: not including high fliers in finance, medical, and law sectors etc) for normal people who are not on admin scheme. Stable, and pretty much good work life balance, though dependent on agencies' culture.
Usually they prefer graduates with 2nd upper and above from local Uni. That's just the base, but there are of course outliers. Certain agencies that are not so competitive are also more lax on their requirements.
What's your background?
