Default How do you prepare for or to minimize the damage of Mid life crisis..

Hi fellow survivors of harsh reality...

I'm new here and my sole purpose of joining this forum is to seek knowledge and ideas from people with real life experience in this topic.

i know there's a topic about mid life crisis but content was not what i was looking for.

So do you mind sharing your experience about managing mid life crisis or be prepared for it? There are no doubt alot of articles writing about planning your finances, upgrading your skills.. etc ... It would be nice to hear from someone in real life who is going thru this period of time and succeeded or still managing it..

Have a good day..

The best way to deal with mid life crisis is to accumulate enough to retire by 40 so that you don't even need to manage it.

This is a much harder, but also better outcome solution. Better than scrimping & saving in your 40s or go for training / lessons on things you cannot care less about or worse still playing office politics carrying balls and making small talk with colleagues & boss you despise.

i had a quarter life crisis. no job, no money, no qualifications, nothing.

thinking back, it's just a bs term for depression and laziness.

your destiny is in your hands. start meeting and network with people. find old friends to connect, find new ones on linkedin. talk to people, service people, civil servants. see if they need assistance and offer to work for free. yes, to learn. and volunteer.

you will see that lots of people are in more unfortunate circumstances than you. you get to come across more opportunities. no hard work, no gain.

Hi

I was a high flyer in the corporate world but decided to quit after experiencing a mid life crisis in my forties. I was working day and night until I neglected my closed ones. A death of a dear one made me reflect upon my life. I decided to focus my life on my relationship rather than money. I sold my landed property and downgraded to a smaller sized penthouse condo. Since then I have been making a living managing my investment portfolio. I am a much happier and contented person now.
