Dilemma whether to move to new job, need advice
Hi People,
I'm a rm in insurance industry. Last year i got a 10% increment when i was promoted from an executive to manager.
i'm a diploma holder ,age 31. Coming march i will be having my bonus inaddition to my yearly increment of between 3-4%.
2 weeks ago i went for an interview and got offered. a 9% increase plus i could have some exposure as well. But if i include my yearly increment,it will be about 5 to 6% increase
Should i still make the jump?

How many mths bonus u expecting to get at current firm? U planning to forgo it if you accept the new job?
9% for coy change is too little. negotiate for more.

9% is too low for change in company.
Don't forget that you are taking a risk on non-monetary aspects (eg. Company culture, new colleagues/boss, etc).
So, if you are going to change company, at least try to ask for a 15% to 20% increment.
Otherwise, if it turns out you hate the new company/colleagues/boss then all you get in return is 9% and a lot of unhappiness.
