Civil Service Contract Role
I've been working on a contract basis for a Ministry/SB for one year. Before I came in, HR promised that there is a high chance of conversion to perm. Now however, I discovered that the contract is going to roll for another year in Apr with no view to convert to perm in the future. Reason: I'm working on a project and future of project is uncertain.
(a) is it viable for me to continue staying on a rolling contract for the long term?
(b) More importantly, am I eligible for maternity benefits should the Ministry/SB terminate my contract halfway? I intend to work for at least 3 years before claiming this benefit.
Appreciate any advice from people who have been through similar situations! Thanks
