Prospect of a planner/purchaser/supply chain executive
Hi,
Can anyone comment on the average starting pay for a diploma holder on these positions? planner/purchaser/supply chain executive.
How is the prospect of this field?
Many thanks!

I work with planners and purchasers, both diploma and degree holders. Not sure what you mean by "supply chain executive" as its very broad.
As a planner, you basically position material, churn out "reports" from the ERP/MRP system, manage inventory a bit, may try to expedite things a little and do basically admin work.
Purchasers (the low level no-brain ones that just lobo their ways through life), just issue POs to vendors as per the contracts and agreements set out by procurement or higher and chase vendors for OTD and maybe rework if required. And when the vendors ask to revise prices... they just act like overpaid postman.
Supply chain executive, as mentioned above, can't comment as I don't know which specific role you mean.
Entry pay for diploma should be around ~2k if I am not wrong.
As for prospects, no comments. Does becoming "head" of the respective position count?
By the way, they may all come under the materials or SCM group but the boundaries of the roles are quite clear. Not really same "field" imo.
