Default Pay dilemma

How to approach boss to rise your pay?

My situation is that I have worked here for quite some time while studying for my degree. After graduation, there is still no increment of my pay. How should i go about to hint the boss about this issue?

Thanks!

Have you done anything strategic or higher level specialise since you got the degree?

You cant just expect the boss to give you money by just buying a piece of paper and having nothing change at work rite?

If you got hired for a diploma job and then got a degree but totally no change in your job responsibilities then hard to ask for a pay raise.

Check with your HR first on what is their policy now that you have a degree can you get a higher pay and slight change in jobscope if required.

If HR say no policy to increase pay etc, then just start looking for another job with a better pay.

no need to be paiseh. since ur boss has agreed before, ask him now that you have grad, will there be an adjustment in pay and perhaps say that you dun mind taking abit more responsibilities or take on higher level jobscope. of cos, ask only if you have performed relatively well.

Well.. an increase in pay might mean an increase in workload.
You'll be working non-stop. One of my friend jumped ship to another company that offered her the same job scope with a higher pay.

However, is this really the long-term job/career that you'll be sticking with?

It's a practical world out there. Your boss may have promised you, but if he can delay making good that promise for 1 month, that's 1 month of additional profits into his pocket.

Beat him at his own game.

Approach your boss to discuss the pay revision. Another forum user talked about doing so only if you have relatively good performance. He is right. After the pay revision comes to fruition, then start looking out for another job, and ask for a pay higher than your revised pay.
