I also wish to post something on the thread "compare civil service salary" and "How much are you earning annually", but i know I can only post here till i find a job

If not interested in the job at all, how to spend days in the workplace? It would be worse than my army days.
Ya can understand man. I apply for jobs no replies, go interviews no calls. How many months u jobless le? U quit without a job or fresh graduate?

I quit without a job because of office politics. Also the previous job was not what i wan in the first place though i got promoted and pay rise in short time. It was my first job after i grad. This was why I advise ppl here not to anyhow apply job that they not interested in at all. Like this, if change job field, no relevant work exp to prove at all.

Never ever quit without a job. Your future employers will question why and if they hire you, will you also do the same when face with tough situations. Try not to leave a gap in your working career, it is very tough to get back in. The longer you are out, the harder it is. If unhappy in current job, start sending out resume and if available, also look internally for opportunities.

What happens if it's a 2 months notice for current coy? Would employers wait?

Does this means one can never take a break from work?

Use annual leave to recharge or talk to your boss to explore if you can take unpaid sabbatical leave. Good thing is that you still have a job when you get back.

I beg to differ to a certain extent. If this candidate has many gaps in their employment history, always leaving without a job and yes, this person is bound to face problems when he applies for a job.

However, if this candidate has worked for around 5 years and left without a job. I think the gap is somewhat understandable because this candidate has staying power.

Well, you have to weigh the pros and cons of leaving without a job. First thing to think about would be your savings enough to last you through the period of unemployment? If you don't have enough savings, don't think about leaving without a job.

You won't want to settle for any jobs due to your desperation to leave the company and in the end, you are stuck being unhappy in your current job then caused a vicious cycle.

It also depends on whether the new company/interviewers are open minded enough to candidates who quit without a job. I have been to some interviews and the interviewers went "U quit without a job?!!" and gave me a horrified look. The feeling sucks.
