Hard to believe for ops. Goldman is 4.2k on a 50k annual package. I know because I had a friend with an offer.

Well, it was an approximation and glassdoor.
The roles refer to graduate programs and above.
I didn't expect DBS to pay so low for tech and they are so selective. I got offered tech role at GS but didn't even get interview with DBS.

Glassdoor isn't that accurate man...
Some of it is inflated, some of it comes from those who have working for more than a year, some of them factor in bonuses etc.

Ffs, FO sales is not your typical RM, insurance agent BS role.
They work with traders to sell investment products to key clients.
You can't get in unless you have an "in" early in your career, otherwise you be stuck with a crappy RM/bank manager role.

Tap on your school/alumni/friends connections. Beg and ask for help.
Should be doable.

how about trying other industries? why so dead-fixed in coming into banking? I've had grads from physics, chem eng, mech eng, etc coming into interviews telling me how passionate and 'deeply intrigued' by the banking mechanisms for our economy, yada yada ... whole lot of BS.
If you're talking about BO/MO i can name you dozens of jobs outside of banking that pays somewhat near or better...
i'm guessing you are from UOL B&F... your schools these days dont brief you on job hunting?

I dont mind working from bottom as it seems that experiences is what they are looking for only. Ultimately i would like to be in the FO (sales role ). Appreciate all your feedback.

im not saying its impossible but...... you'll probably need to hitched up with an FO MD's daughter or conjure up some miracles to make that work. lol good luck

Please look at other banking risk n opportunities. See how many ppl are being slaughtered now; the foreign banks are implementing asian reversal strategy (esp standard chartered). This is wave 2. Wave 1 was cost reduction strategy from Swiss and Singapore to Pune India. Where the hell is puny Pune India man?
