Big 4 vs DBS MAP
Hey,
I was recently offered to join the dbs management associate program and I wanted to get input on whether to accept that or get my experience with the Big 4 instead.
I want to know more about the work hours and lifestyle in the MA program, and how the work experience there compares to big 4 audit experience. Where would I be better off in 5 years, in terms of salary and transferable skills?
I also have a chance to work in Big 4 audit in the US. I know that the pay there is substantially higher than the accounting jobs here, with less hours in a week. How does that opportunity compare to the DBS MAP?

Take the Big4 audit US ! lol local audit job sucks super long hours and long term prospects are minimal unless you become a partner.
The DBS MA is not bad cos they will rotate you and fast track you for promotions. Still think US experience is the best tho

How does the salary progression compare between DBS and Big 4? I'd expect to Big 4 to grow at a substantially higher rate

dont be silly. DBS MAP 4.7k vs big4 2.8k, different of nearly 2k. how fast can big4 grow your salary to even match the starting salary of DBS???
DBS high fliers can reach SVP by early 30s, pay is already 20k+ by then

i don't know about you guys, but the offer i got from DBS was 4375. but anyway, the 4.7k and 4.375k not much diff. but vs big 4's 2.8k, its freaking massive.
TS, i'm not sure how you finished uni with such poor math skills. 2.8k vs 4+k, there is NO FIGHT. but do yourself a favour and stay away from ops/HR/back office roles at DBS.
cheers!
