NTU is a stat board, just like any other polytechnics or LTA, PA, etc.
If you are working as an assistant professor there, you are considered to be assisting the govt in research.
Not bad, I would guess asst professor to be paid $4500-6000 at the moment, freshly grad Dr.

I thought asst profs make 10k? some research fellow in SMU told me that.

i believe so, but after some years. i dont think at the very beginning after grad, asst profs earn 10k.

do they have the standard government bonuses?
I was in NUS last time, didn't have them. No 13th month component either.
