Definitely you can opt for it. Risk management is a practical and sustainable career, the hours are sensible, stress level not as high as in trading, but needs constant learning as regular changing marketing.

Hi guys, Im interested to start a career in risk mgmt, Im going to graduate in 1 semester from local business sch.. However, after looking through all the job adverts, all of them require some sort of experience which I do not have. Is there any other way to get into this field?
I couldnt get into those MAP as Im not really that good, just an average student with 2nd uppers.. One of the position I did applied recently was OCBC consumer banking, Im hoping to get into the operational risk department. My plan was to get a few years of experience before jumping to other risk departments like credit risk etc, but Im not too sure whether is it possible to switch the sector.. Hopefully some of you guys can help to answer my questions!
Thanks in advance!

Why op risk? Op risk is not even remotely related to credit risk
You are better off working as corporate banking to learn about companies balance sheet and financing strategies, and work towards as credit risk.

Bank pay risk analyst differ depending whether u r working in middle or front office.
Some dept structure in a way analyst are a team with the front office guys that pitch deals
Some r purely middle office.
Thus, pay b bonus may vary depending on tht
