same pay structure as poly under academic.
as for 7-8k, probably many years with the school (some joined as Senior Lecturer - due to previously drawn pay in industry - AX4) and we are looking at higher spectrum of AX4 and perhaps touching AX3 pay bracket.

I am no HR person but I have seen some data that suggest to me that the median pay for a 46yo lecturer is around 6.7k. Do you think you are above avg or older than 46?

If you ignore fancy title like "lecturer" in poly and ITE, the pay progress is about same as MOE teachers (non-mgt) in secondary/JC schools.
Just like normal teachers, unless you are in the management track as a HOD/VP equivalent in the poly/ ITE, 7-8k is consider near career max and only those in their late 40s or early 50s get it. Most lecturers in poly/ ITE are 3.5-5k and senior lecturers 4-6k, only very experienced old) ones get 7k+.
My advice for all those young 30+ PME in pte sector, please only join if you are truly passionate about teaching. If your intention is to get the same pay & bonus as before while relax one corner work life balance then you are just wasting everybody (inc yours) time.

I received the same pay increase as last year.
Does it mean that my rating this year is the same as last year?
Or it need not be the case eg rating of 4 or rating of 5 also have the same pay increase?

Obvious rubbish from a troll. Poly lecturers who have 20 years exp draw at least 13-15k.

He meant the basic salary.
He did not factor in the 13th month, mid and end year bonus and PB.
Consider the following: Mid year = 0.5 , end year = 1 month, PB = 3 months, 13th month
1) basic salary 3.5k becomes $5,104 per month (averaged out)
2) basic salary 5k becomes $7,291 per month
3) basic salary 7k becomes $10,208 per month
