How much do they earn?
Hows the hours like?

i heard those in Bain, Boston, mckinsey earn a lot.

Yeah they do earn a lot. I would rank traders, IB, MC in this order.

As with most well paid jobs, your soul belongs to the firm, at least when you start out.

May I ask out of curiousity, how does 1 enter this industry?

What qualifications are needed? Are connections highly important (like in IB?)

usually a good degree from a top university is sufficient.

is 2nd upper from local u sufficient?

The top firms are Bain, BCG and McKinsey.

Don't know about Accebture, but for top firms I think you need good degrees (magna cum laude and above) or MBA from Oxbridge or Ivy League universities or MIT, Stanford.

But I may be wrong.

Not enough.. unless u have extensive networks / connections or specialty skills or specific industry knowledge eg algo trading

Accenture's strength is in doing systems integration consulting. Basically, IT projects.

Accenture is previously known as Anderson Consulting.

Strictly speaking, they are not doing management consulting. It's more "IT consulting" if you ask me.

hmm nt sure whether they doing IT projects... they studied chemical engineering though
