Unpaid leave during probation
Hi all,
I have just accepted a new job offer in Singapore which it will be commencing on May 2018. However, as you may heard from news, Malaysia is going to held its general election on 9th May (falls on wednesday, a working day)
My question is, if i were to apply an unpaid leave on that particular day, will it look bad on my career? *I will be on probation by that time*
Your constructive advice is appreciated

leave does not affect, You should have a good performance when you work and good terms with co-workers and boss that may help you to earn a lot.

I suggest you not do stupid thing by creating a bad first impression among boss and colleague for something trivial like election.
Don't be taken in by all the hype from the politicians how important your vote is, it will not matter as elections are never won/lost on 1 vote margin. Are the sleazy politicians going to give a flying fark about you when you get whacked by your boss/colleagues or suffer financially?

The Malaysian Chinese working here are always fantasizing about how their favorite oppie DAP is going to thrash Najib. Many in my work place are also planning to take 2 days leave to go back to vote believing that it will actually lead to BN collapsing. I really dun understand whats the diff b/w Mahatir, Najib or Anwar becoming PM. All of them are/were from the same ruling class UMNO who caused the mess anyway.
