hi guys, was roaming ard this forum and thread caught my eye as i was from
NTU BIE grad in 2010
From wad i know abt my coursemates and also frens from
NUS BIE, the related jobs for us is very limited.
if u take a look at
Ministry of Education, Singapore: Education System, Post-Secondary, the 75 percentile starting pay for us (
NTU) is 3800. but dont be fooled that BIE related jobs pay well.
-Those who got 3800 got system analyst job in an angmo consultancy firm (Ac**t**e), totally no relation to BIE.
- For those above the 75 percentile, they are earning ard 4200. These pple applied for the
EDB-STRAT prog where selected pple were sent overseas to train in a partner MNC fpr a duration of 6months, den return to singapore to work. Their pay after that should be around 4k. But mind you, only a handful were selected (if u r 1st class hnrs and have lots of overseas experience, u will be highly likely to be selected)
- i have a fren from
NUS BIE who is currently working in a bank as credit analyst.
Personally, i feel that if u can get into chem engine, please go . dont go BIE. For chem engineers, opportunities are many as big oil and gas MNCs are setting up refineries and plants and have their regional sales office in singapore. for chem engineers, you are not restricted only to a technical job, u can be in chemical sales, supply chain, credit and sales analyst in the oil and gas company.
